Research project
RNA Methylation Gain as a Mechanism of Resistance to Therapy in Myelodysplastic Syndromes
Rationale and Objectives
This project aims to investigate the role of RNA methylation in predicting treatment responses in myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), particularly focusing on azacytidine (Aza) therapy.
The specific objectives are:
- Analyzing m6A RNA methylation patterns in MDS patients to identify potential biomarkers for treatment response.
- Developing a model that integrates RNA methylation with genetic and epigenetic data to predict Aza response.
- Creating an AI-based model to anticipate treatment outcomes and enable personalized therapeutic interventions.

This project may be adapted to the evolving needs of the host laboratory while remaining within hemato-oncology research. The DC will undertake one or more secondments with a total duration of at least three months and up to one year. These secondments may take place within or outside the DN, preferably in international and intersectoral settings.
