Research project
Mechanisms of Resistance to MEK Inhibitors in Leukemia and Identification of Targeted Therapeutic Approaches
Rationale and Objectives
This project aims to investigate the mechanisms behind resistance to MEK inhibitors (MEKi) in leukemia, with the goal of identifying therapeutic strategies to overcome it.
The objectives include:
- Analyzing pre- and post-relapse patient samples using multi-omic approaches (exome sequencing, RNAseq, proteomics, and metabolomics) to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying resistance to MEKi in leukemia.
- Integrating multi-omic data through AI-based approaches to identify potential pharmacological repurposing strategies aimed at preventing or reversing MEKi resistance.
- Validating the identified therapeutic interventions in in vitro and in vivo leukemia models to assess their effectiveness in overcoming MEKi resistance.

This project may be adapted to the evolving needs of the host laboratory while remaining within hemato-oncology research. The DC will undertake one or more secondments with a total duration of at least three months and up to one year. These secondments may take place within or outside the DN, preferably in international and intersectoral settings.
