Background

I am a physician–scientist trained at Lund University, where I completed both my MD and PhD degrees. Following my doctoral studies, I pursued postdoctoral training at Stanford University, where I identified novel immune-evasive markers on leukemic stem cells that are now progressing toward therapeutic development, advanced single-cell and CRISPR/Cas9 methodologies to investigate preleukemic states, and uncovered metabolic vulnerabilities in mutant hematopoietic stem cells.

I currently combine clinical practice in hematology at Skåne University Hospital with translational research at Lund University, where I lead a recently established research group. Our work integrates patient care with experimental science, focusing on the biology and treatment of myeloid malignancies. We aim to unravel the mechanisms that drive disease initiation and relapse, leveraging clinical insight, cutting-edge preclinical models, and international collaborations to advance prevention and treatment strategies for leukemia and preleukemic conditions.
